THE HELENE FULD COLLEGE OF NURSING (HFCN) was founded in 1945 as a private, non-profit College, and is at the forefront of nursing education. Fully accredited by ACEN (for the AAS program), CCNE (for the BS programs) and Middle States (for the entire College), HFCN provides opportunities for a professional career in nursing through three programs:
The College is located in Harlem, one of the most dynamic and safe communities in New York City. We are easily accessible from all boroughs, Long Island and the Tri-State Area via public transportation, Metro North or car, although parking is limited. Classes are held during the day and evenings, Monday through Saturday. Clinical placements are located throughout NYC and Long Island, and are scheduled Tuesdays through Sundays.
DESCRIPTION
The Bursar oversees and handles the payment of tuition balance. Most students do not receive full funding coverage from government loans, grants, and scholarships and therefore must arrange to pay the balance. The Bursar oversees the payment of this balance and ensures cash payment plans are arranged and payments are collected in a timely manner.
The role of Bursar is to ensure student cash payments. This is accomplished through:
Daily Closing
Bursar Duties for BS and GBS Programs - Posting Payments, Assist Students with questions, Payment Plans, Respond to Email, Take Phone Calls
Collections (reporting to Valer, writing off accounts, posting payments for written off accounts, maintain excel reconciliation)
Contact students with overdue account
Create refund lists for students
Month-end closing

Voiding Payment Plans
Payment Plan reports
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bursars must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 to 4 years of billing/accounting experience and the willingness to work with students.
