We are an IT consulting firm (MSP) located in Manhattan, serving NYC-based small and medium businesses. We've been in business for over 15 years and are growing fast. Our clients typically have 40 - 500 users, and we support all their IT needs.
Position Summary:
A Procurement Specialist is responsible for providing first-level support to the Professional Service Team. This role must demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills to respond to diverse and sometimes urgent needs. It is expected that all client interactions will be done with "white glove" customer service.
The Procurement Specialist is a pivotal role responsible for researching, evaluating, and procuring the best IT equipment and services from global markets. This role requires strong negotiation skills, in-depth market knowledge, and a basic understanding of IT essentials.
Key Responsibilities :
* Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and vendors for IT equipment and services.
* Evaluate products based on quality, compatibility, support, and overall value.
* Stay updated on IT trends and advancements, ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of technology.
* Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best cost without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.
* Ensure all purchases align with the company's technology standards and requirements.
* Manage purchase orders, invoices, and vendor relationships effectively.
* Engage with international suppliers and maintain relationships that foster beneficial terms and delivery conditions.
* Understand and navigate international shipping regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures.
* Collaborate with shipping and logistics teams to ensure timely and safe delivery of procured items.
* Apply a basic understanding of IT concepts including Active Directory (AD), Office 365/Gsuite, Windows/Mac OS, etc., to make informed procurement decisions.
* Basic understanding of enterprise-level hardware and equipment(servers, network hardware, printers, etc.)
* Liaise with the service department to understand specific requirements and nuances of products and services.
* Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and market trends.
* Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
