    Job Description

Helping Hands is a non-profit organization created to slow the spread of COVID-19 through tech-enabled, community volunteerism. We connect people who must shelter in place with those who can safely deliver critical items (like food, medicine, or household goods) and provide various forms of assistance (like dog-walking, mail pick-ups, or conversations). By facilitating these connections, we aim to protect neighbors from contracting severe illnesses, and each other from an overwhelmed healthcare system.

Founded by former employees of Uber, Facebook, and Google, Helping Hands is built and operated by a team of over 100 volunteers around the world with backgrounds in engineering, design, operations, marketing, and policy. We have experience building solutions for scale and we're using that knowledge to help communities shelter in place while still getting what they need to remain comfortable.

Helping Hands is seeking a Business Development Manager to help develop and manage national partnerships that will help us scale our community! We're looking for someone who can own contract negotiations, can own C-level relationships with our national partners, and has a proven track record of setting and hitting big targets. If you've had experience with business development and want to play a critical role to the work we are doing with Helping Hands, keep reading.

    What You'll Do:

    • Develop partnerships with national organizations who will support Helping Hands' mission to slow the spread of COVID-19

    • Own contract negotiations with national organizations with the end goal of establishing flourishing partnerships that support scaling our organization's impact

    • Own developing pilot structures / goals that ultimately drive partnership success

    Qualifications:

    • Proven work experience as a business development manager or similar role

    • Experience leading contract negotiations

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bonus: experience using Slack as a main platform  for communications)

    • Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver

    Commitment To The Team:

Helping Hands is a team of volunteers that have mobilized to help slow the spread of Covid-19. The majority of volunteers are devoting time outside of their other job to support Helping Hands. The demands for a role like this requires someone who can devote ~15-20 hours / week to this job. Because the team is dispersed across the country and due to the unique hours individuals are working, frequent use of communication channels like Slack and email are critical to ensure no one is bottlenecking decisions or tasks.
