Position Overview
The Helping Hands Companion provides friendly, non-medical support to help clients stay organized, independent, and engaged in their daily lives. This role focuses on light household assistance, errands, transportation, companionship, and general lifestyle support.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, staying active in the community, and making a positive difference in everyday quality of life.
This is not a personal care role. No assistance with bathing, dressing, or medical care is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Household and Home Support
Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as:
laundry and folding washing dishes organizing closets and cabinets tidying living spaces changing linens basic meal preparation or kitchen clean-up
Help with seasonal tasks such as:
holiday decorating and clean-up organizing seasonal clothing light organizing projects around the home
Errands and Transportation
Provide assistance with everyday errands including:
grocery shopping pharmacy pick-ups post office and banking returns and exchanges pet supply shopping
Transport and accompany clients to:
hair and beauty appointments social or community events religious services lunch outings or activities veterinary appointments
Companionship and Social Support
Provide friendly companionship and conversation Accompany clients to appointments and activities Engage in hobbies, games, or social outings Help clients remain active and connected Reduce stress and overwhelm through practical support
Technology and Organizational Help
Assist with basic technology needs such as:
setting up phones, tablets, or computers help with email, online ordering, or bill pay printing documents scheduling appointments organizing calendars and reminders
Pet Care Assistance
Walking pets Feeding pets Transporting pets to groomer or vet Light pet-related clean-up
What This Role Does Not Include
The Helping Hands Companion position does not involve:
personal care bathing or dressing toileting assistance medical care of any kind medication administration
Required Skills and Qualifications
Friendly, patient, and compassionate personality Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Strong organizational skills Good communication skills Comfort with basic technology Dependable and trustworthy Ability to work independently Clean background check
