Job Summary:
As a member of the Finance/Accounting team, the Cattle Accountant will support the financial affairs of the organization and assist with preparation of financial analysis of operations, including interim and annual financial and cost reports with supporting schedules. The right candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with an ability to thrive in a detail-oriented and fast-paced environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Collect, match, code and enter cattle purchases, freight bills, feed bills & brands
· Utilize cattle tracking systems to verify purchases and to determine ownership and where they were shipped
· Obtain pricing and approvals via email, text and verbal
· Work with buying managers to resolve pricing and billing issues
· Verify feed bills from internal and external feedlots
· Timely and accurately code and enter purchases in accounting system
· Invoice customers for cattle sales, freight and brands
· Invoice customers for feeding and care
· Invoicing for miscellaneous feed and cattle sales
· Reconcile and enter cattle purchases and sales with intercompany entities
· Work with accounting staff on month-end cattle inventory reconciliations
· Collaborate with the accounting and operations teams on projects
· Other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· Degree in Accounting, or related field, preferred
· At least five years of related experience required
Working knowledge of the cattle industry is REQUIRED.
