    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly organized, process-oriented Procurement & Merchandising Associate to oversee all brand merchandising initiatives, including subscription box, member gifting, and e-commerce projects.

    THIS WILL BE A PART-TIME FREELANCE ROLE REQUIRING A TIME COMMITMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 8 HOURS PER WEEK. There may be potential for an expansion of this role in the future.

    This role is ideal for a confident, self-motivated “doer” who relishes opportunities to own and run with projects from start to finish. You’ll manage every aspect of the product development lifecycle - from working with our creative team on concept ideation, to sourcing and managing supplier relationships, and ultimately to delivering a delightful experience to our end consumers in a timely and effective manner. Throughout it all, you’ll play an integral role in strengthening the Her Campus brand among our community members, clients and partners, and broader audience base through creative, strategic, and professionally executed merchandising projects both online through hcxo.shop and in person through meaningful pop-ups, gifting and sampling opportunities, and more.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Work hand-in-hand with our creative teams on strategic product development for all brand merchandising projects
    • Project manage sourcing and fulfillment aspects of HCM gifting and sampling programs, supporting our marketing, business development, and community teams
    • Establish and adhere strictly to timelines for product development projects, coordinating with key players to ensure that deadlines are met
    • Own all product and supplier research, conducting detailed analyses to inform pricing and product choices
    • Liaise with warehouse and fulfillment suppliers on organization/donation, inventory recounts, backend efficiencies, etc. to ensure a high level of service and continued supply of products
      • Where appropriate, recommend supply chain or launch pipeline improvements
    • Photograph, upload, and merchandise all products featured on hcxo.shop, optimizing product placement and marketing initiatives regularly
    • Partner with our editorial team to plan, curate, produce, schedule, and monitor content for our hcxo.shop social media accounts, building engagement and brand loyalty while showcasing products through authentic, community-driven tactics
    • Own inventory counts for all products, and leverage past performance data and knowledge of upcoming events to reorder, update, and phase out products as needed
    • Conceptualize, execute, and man in-person retail pop-ups as needed (may involve travel)
    • Partner with web team as needed to improve hcxo.shop website design and user experience
    • Rigorously track KPIs including shop P&L, order, product, and customer trends, and present monthly reports and next steps to leadership
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 1+ years of experience in a relevant project management, operations, or merchandising role
    • Ideally, experience with any of the following: e-commerce, market research, data analysis, Shopify, retail merchandising
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills
    • Self-motivated entrepreneurial thinker who is always looking for areas of improvement
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data into meaningful insights
