     JOB TITLE: Digital Zone, Work-Study

     

    DEPARTMENT: Excel! Knowledge Zone

     

    PAY RATE: $12.25

     

    NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 10

     

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    To provide education technology support by facilitating multimodal writing, video production and sound in students’ creation of Digital Storytelling.  To provide appropriate customer service, services offered such as D2L, Microsoft Suite, and general assistance with technology on a daily basis; provide coordination between fellow work students and tutoring services; provide monitoring and oversight of the centers to ensure an environment conducive for study and learning.   

     

    50% – Assist students

     

    • Greet students to the EXCEL! Zone in a friendly and supportive manner.
    • Guide students as they learn the sign-in and sign-out process and ensure all students understand the purpose and importance of the EXCEL! ZONE sign-in process.
    • Answer phones professionally and direct calls to the appropriate person or department.
    • Lead in providing technology support for tutors and students by assisting with network log-ins and software programs such as D2L, Word, Digital Storytelling, and math programs.
    • Support students in technical support on video editing software and voice recording apps.
    • Resolve technical problems related to printers and files, and report any unresolved software or hardware problems to the EXCEL! Zone Administrative Assistant.
    • Assist students with properly citing sources for visuals and sounds.

     

    40% – Monitor assigned center area

     

    • Reset student passwords and print student usage reports as requested.
    • Assist with the daily and weekly maintenance of the EXCEL! ZONE centers.
    • Attend all departmental meetings and regularly scheduled training sessions.
    • Provide information to students and staff regarding the services offered in each center within the EXCEL! Knowledge Zone.
    • Transport and deliver printer paper to open computer lab in Cherry Creek and the Confluence building, second floor and provide technical support as needed throughout the day.

     

    10% – Administrative support duties as assigned

     

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

     

    •  Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to work well as part of a team
    • Ability to learn and adapt
    • Proficient word processer and internet navigation skills
    • Willing to learn educational technologies

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    EDUCATION:

    Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.

     

    EXPERIENCE:               

    • Use of computer software programs or learning apps
    • Customer service

     

    OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:  

    • Applicant shows responsibility, reliability and dependability.

    • Must be in good academic standing.

     

     

    TIME COMMITMENT

    Up to 20 hours a week (may not exceed 20 hours per week)
