Started as a pop-up shop at Birmingham, Alabama’s Pepper Place Farmer’s Market, Hero Doughnuts and buns is the evolution of founder Wil Drake’s efforts to bring authentic, brioche-style doughnuts with creative and classic flavor combinations to everyone. Doughnuts are much more than a quick breakfast item—they evoke nostalgia, spark joy and create happy memories. There are now multiple locations of Hero Doughnuts and Buns in Birmingham and Atlanta with plans for expansion to Charleston, SC. And beyond. The menu includes breakfast, burgers and lunch sandwiches made with house-made, fresh brioche buns as well as full breakfast plates and salads. We offer squeezed to order orange juice, Domestique drip coffee as well as Nitro Cold Brew and Draft Lattes. Fun adult beverages—beer, wine, mimosas, spiked lattes and other brunchy drinks are offered as well! Friendly, enthusiastic employees welcome guests into our cheerful, fun spaces with the promise of good times and great food.
Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Brand Partner and Marketing Director, the Brand Ambassador is responsible for cultivating a loyal following of HERO fans by telling the story of HERO, our roots, our food, our culture and our role in the local community through relationship marketing, with an undeniable passion for the Brand. They create an interest and excitement about the Brand & invite as many people as they can to enjoy our authentic, scratch-made food & genuine Southern hospitality to the restaurant(s) they represent.
The Brand Ambassador is responsible for building sales by educating their local communities about the various services we offer (dine-in, pickup lane, private dining, take-home & catering), the amazing food we serve and everything that makes us special along with the deployment of specific grassroots marketing tools. The Brand Ambassador is responsible for executing a consistent, disciplined & measurable program that tracks their actions & progress.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Tell the story, be able to present the HERO Brand in a brief but compelling way. Describing our food, hospitality & various services to potential guests.
Use the dining room as your captive audience, connecting with guests, asking what they care about & educating them on what we offer
Be present at all Hero Brand sponsored community events & coordinate our brand presentation at those events.
Create a real, personal, and local experience outside the restaurant that drives traffic inside the restaurant that resulting in sales growth.
Create awareness and trial by inviting and building loyalty over time.
Finding new guests at large local events and inviting them to our restaurants with FREE coupons.
Create and maintain relationships with key community contacts, guest referrals & other influencers with PRG notecards.
Support brand-wide marketing campaigns on a local level.
Accurately gather details & clearly present community goodwill requests for approval to the Brand Partner.
Build & maintain a calendar of marketing activities
Develop weekly plans that focus marketing efforts at connecting with our community
Awareness building & sales generating
Qualifications
Education/Training/Work Experience
High school diploma, or general equivalency diploma (GED);
Some college preferred
Restaurant experience preferred .
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills required.
Strong meeting & presentation skills.
Computer experience with Excel, Word & Calendar required.
Strong verbal & written communication skills required
