SPEAR, A CALIBRE Company is seeking a Test Engineer to join our team in Dulles, Virginia! The Test Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Write, track, review and verify resolution of defects (e.g. using JIRA, Mantis, etc).
- Design, write, review, and execute test plans, procedures, reports, user guides, and other technical documentation.
- Effectively communicate testing status to technical leads, software developers, program managers and customers.
- Effectively communicate testing strategies to customer contacts during test events and product delivery.
- Design, write, debug, and execute automated test scripts (e.g. using Python, Perl, Bash, and/or Batch).
Required Skills
The Test Engineer will need to be experienced with testing system-level applications which may or may not have a graphical user interface, have a basic understanding of networking (e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL).
- BS degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 1-4 years applicable experience that includes either: 1+ years of iOS testing experience or 1+ years of Android testing experience.
- Ability to read and review code in Python, Bash, etc; high proficiency with Bash and Python is a plus.
- Linux system administration.
- Experience using virtualization technologies (eg. VMware, Virtualbox).
- Experience using network analysis tools (eg. Wireshark, tcpdump).
- Requirements analysis & management.
