Driving Range Attendant Job Description:
Located at the edge of Chicago and nestled within a lush oasis since 1917, Hickory Hills Country Club extends an invitation to a world-class retreat. Remarkably different in character, it has distinguished itself as a premier golf course from all the others in the area. Massive glaciers once covered most of the Continental United States and when they stopped advancing, the accumulation of glacial debris created beautiful hilly areas called moraines, which have become the signature of our rippling fairways.
The Championship 18-Hole and Executive 9-Hole courses emerge from magnificent willow trees and spectacular rolling hills, providing a high standard of excellence for every golf enthusiast. The former, a par 71, was designed by legendary professional golfer James Foulis and the latter was designed by one of the founding members of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, William B. Langford. Hickory Hills Country Club is picturesque in design, but rugged enough to test every facet of your game.
We are currently upgrading our driving range facility with TOP TRACER technology and are seeking a responsible and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Driving Range Attendant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the driving range facility and providing exceptional customer service to all patrons.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they arrive at the driving range and assist them in selecting the right bucket of golf balls for their practice session
- Collect payment for range balls and any rental equipment, such as clubs or mats
- Show customers how to operate our Top Tracer technology
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the driving range, including picking up balls on the range and keeping the ball dispensing machine stocked
- Provide basic instruction to beginners on how to use the range equipment and practice effectively
- Monitor customer activity on the range to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons
- Assist with minor maintenance and repairs of range equipment as needed
- Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure the well-being of all customers and staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a customer service role, preferably in a sports or recreational setting
- Knowledge of golf and golf equipment is preferred. Please list any golf experience you have on your resume.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
