    ****Controller Job Description

    Join our client as a Controller in Louisville, KY!

    As a Controller with our client, you will be responsible for planning and executing all operational accounting functions, with a focus on cost accounting and reporting in a manufacturing environment. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, expertise in WIP calculations, COGS, inventory management, and working experience with ERP systems.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage all aspects of accounting, including AP, AR, invoicing, vendor bill processing, cash flow analysis, and month-end/quarterly/year-end reporting.
    • Ensure costing accuracy for operations, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, and develop and analyze operational and financial performance indicators to contribute to decision-making.
    • Complete monthly and year-end internal financial statements and analysis, shareholder distributions, sales commissions, and address compliance issues.
    • Participate in improving business processes, supply chain optimization, inventory accuracy, and departmental budget creation.
    • Prepare inventory reports for external accountants, assist with fiscal year-end close, and manage responsibilities for Commercial and Worker's Compensation Insurance.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in WIP calculations, COGS, and inventory management.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (e.g., Global Shop), and advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

    Occasional Duties

    • Perform additional tasks as requested by Management.
