    Higgins, Hopkins, McLain & Roswell, LLC is seeking one or more attorney(s) with a minimum of two years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in construction defect and/or general casualty/insurance defense. Candidates with trial experience or an existing, portable book of business will be given the highest priority and will be compensated accordingly. All with a passion for construction and/or with experience in general liability/insurance defense who wish to join a positive and collaborative firm culture are encouraged to apply. Salary for those applicants who do not bring significant portable work is anticipated to start at or above $80,000, plus a percentage of originations. Those who bring portable, new work to the firm, will be paid a percentage of revenues generated from that portable work. Responsibilities: Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings Take responsibility for administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients and completing tasks Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution Qualifications: Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree with 2 years of related experience Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis) Compensation: $80,000
