    Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized Legal Assistant to help our attorneys and paralegals assist our clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities: • Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently • Ensure client billing is processed properly using daily time records with assistance from the accounting department • Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines • Help with creating a variety of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when necessary • Arrange travel, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events • Responsible for calendaring all deadlines and making sure team members are on top of their deadlines • Schedule meetings and appointments for the team • Accept other administrative tasks as needed to assist the team and ensure the firm runs smoothly Qualifications: • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs • Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position • Candidates should be able to type at least 50 words per minute • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment • Able to work full-time in the office. This is not a remote position • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products • 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant • An associate’s degree or some college is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is necessary • Newly certified paralegals are encouraged to apply No Recruiters Please Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000+ yearly DOE
