    URGENT HIRE NEEDED

    position is located in Mayville, WI. Flexible Scheduling options up to 30hrs/week

    We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and skilled behavior support professional to provide in-home assistance for an autistic teenager with high care needs. Prior experience is essential for this role with the ability to be comfortable working with an adult-size non-verbal client and skilled in behavioral de-escalation strategies and techniques. This role focuses on supporting daily routines, promoting positive behavior, helping to create a calm and structured environment, and working collaboratively with family members and care providers to encourage safety, stability, and meaningful progress.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide in-home behavior support tailored to the individual’s needs, strengths, and communication style
    • Support daily routines, transitions, and structured activities in a calm and consistent manner
    • Use positive, person-centered strategies to encourage adaptive behaviors and reduce distress
    • Assist with de-escalation and implement approved support plans when challenging behaviors arise
    • Observe, document, and communicate behavior patterns, triggers, and progress as needed
    • Collaborate with family members, supervisors, and care teams to maintain continuity of support
    • Promote independence, engagement, and quality of life through appropriate skill-building and encouragement
    • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at all times

    Qualifications

    - 3–5 years of experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or Special Needs Aide supporting individuals with aggressive, high-needs developmental disabilities

    - Experience implementing behavior intervention plans (BIP) or positive behavior supports (PBS)

    - Proven ability to remain calm and professional under extreme pressure and utilize safe, approved de-escalation techniques and physical management/restraint strategies

    - Training or experience using assistive communication technologies, visual schedules, or non-verbal cues

    - Ability to safely manage, redirect, and maneuver a large, growing teenager during an aggressive episode without causing harm

    - Strong ability to track behavioral triggers, log data, and communicate clearly with the family and care team professionals.

    - Willingness to follow individualized support plans, safety procedures, and family preferences

    - Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to guidance and feedback

    - Commitment to fostering trust, consistency, and quality care, respectful for privacy, dignity, and person-centered support practices
