Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Biology Instructor to join our academic team in a part-time on-site teaching role. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the biological sciences and experience teaching high school or college-level Biology, including AP Biology. This role offers the flexibility to teach in-person, empowering students to engage with science through inquiry, experimentation, and real-world application.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality instruction in Biology—including General and AP Biology—through a combination of live teaching sessions and asynchronous content on platforms such as Canvas
Implement provided curriculum materials and lesson plans, with thoughtful adaptations to support diverse learner needs and academic objectives
Assess student understanding through quizzes, lab activities, tests, and projects; provide timely, constructive feedback to guide improvement
Promote scientific thinking and inquiry through hands-on lab simulations, collaborative group work, and interactive class discussions
Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement; communicate proactively with students and academic staff regarding performance and support strategies
Participate in professional development opportunities, instructional planning sessions, and classroom observation processes to enhance teaching practice
Collaborate with faculty and academic support staff to align instruction with cross-disciplinary learning outcomes and school-wide goals
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field
Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a U.S. high school or college setting
Demonstrated experience teaching Biology or AP Biology in in-person, hybrid, or virtual formats
Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills
