Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Biology Tutor to join our academic team in a part-time on-sireteaching role. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the biological sciences and experience teaching high school or college-level Biology, including AP Biology.

Candidates who are familiar with hybrid or fully online instructional methods and who are skilled in creating engaging, interactive learning experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

● Deliver high-quality instruction in Biology (including General and AP Biology) through live teaching sessions and asynchronous content on platforms such as Canvas. ● Follow provided curriculum materials and lesson plans, adapting as needed to meet student needs and learning goals. ● Assess student performance using quizzes, labs, tests, and projects; provide timely and constructive feedback. ● Encourage scientific thinking and inquiry through hands-on lab simulations, group activities, and class discussions. ● Monitor student progress, attendance, and participation, and communicate effectively with students and staff regarding academic concerns. ● Participate in professional development sessions, instructional planning meetings, and classroom observation processes. ● Collaborate with academic support teams and other faculty to ensure alignment with cross-disciplinary learning goals.

Qualifications:

Required: ● Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field. ● Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a U.S. high school or college setting. ● Experience teaching Biology or AP Biology in person. ● Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred: ● Valid secondary-level teaching credential in Science or Biology. ● Experience designing lab-based instruction or conducting virtual labs. ● Experience with project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction. ● Passion for fostering curiosity, scientific literacy, and academic excellence.
