We want our students to be supported both academically and spiritually every day, and we know that requires talented individuals who are strong teachers and disciples of Christ. RUCA holds a strong culture through its academic and spiritual principles that we expect our staff to adopt and add to. Therefore, we’re looking for self-motivated teachers who take ownership of their work and model that process for students. Interested parties can email info@riverstoneunited.com with their resume attached.

Your Opportunity

RUCA just opened its doors in 2021, so you have the unique and valuable opportunity to shape the Business Department from its roots. Using rigorous and engaging curriculum, you will be expected to adapt and deliver lessons to best suit your students. We will value your feedback on how to best deliver social studies content.

Job responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:

• Deliver highly effective lessons to Grades 9-12 that are suited to your student needs and learning styles
• Providing timely and relevant feedback on student work
• Coaching students based on feedback to drive student achievement
• Adopting rigor/relevance principles by looking to provide a real-world purpose to your business lessons
• Adopting an active learning policy that pushes students to engage in their learning, including modeling what that looks like
• Being solutions-minded as the staff collaborates to best educate students
• Communicate with parents and students as we all aim for high student achievement together

A qualified candidate should have:

• A faith in Jesus Christ that impacts their daily life
• A passion for their content area
• Strong communication skills
• Creative methods to deliver lessons and assess progress
• Effective classroom management skills, including preferred practices regarding positive and negative classroom behaviors
• An eye for using data to identify and solve problems
• Implement inclusive education practices for students with learning differences
• A clear idea of an effective lesson structure, including what elements of a lesson plan would be crucial for high student achievement/engagement
• A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in education, their content area, or a related area

Why work at RUCA?

We understand that if we expect you to support our students, then it’s our responsibility to support you. Teachers will be trusted to deliver content in the most effective way possible - we’re not looking to be micromanagers. If we hire you, it’s because we trust you to succeed. We know the time it takes to be an effective teacher, so we only want to deliver relevant professional development and give you time to provide effective feedback to allow your students to improve. More importantly, we want to know you as a person so we can support you specifically, whether you need extra resources or just an encouraging conversation.

More benefits include:

• Working in a school based on modern academic principles, where technology is leveraged to ease teacher workload but not a distraction in the classroom (100% of our teachers say cell phone are a minimal distraction or not a distraction at all during class)
• Spiritual growth nurtured through school leadership that seeks Christ in their endeavors and sets aside time to build strong relationships with staff members
• Unique opportunity to grow a school from its foundations - we look forward to listening to and acting on your views, especially in your content area
• Competitive salary and benefit package
