Duties

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to high school and/or college students both online and in person in the following subject areas

English writing and literature

College Essays

History

Social Studies

Foreign Language - high need for Spanish, French, and Italian

ACT/SAT experience preferred

Special consideration will be given to applicants capable of tutoring STEM courses in addition to the above humanities courses

• Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation

• Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage and motivate students

• Monitor student progress and provide feedback in session reports to admin, parents/guardians, and teachers

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align tutoring sessions with classroom curriculum

• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

• Reliably commute from client to client

Qualifications

-At least 2 years of high school and/or college tutoring experience

• Previous experience working with students, preferably in a high school and/or college setting

• Knowledge of various teaching methods and techniques

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
