    Higher Logic is seeking a PR Communications Specialist to join our growing marketing team. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this person will be responsible for amplifying Higher Logic’s brand and reputation with key audiences and stakeholders through media relations, social media, thought leadership, internal communications and events.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    PUBLIC RELATIONS

    • Establish and oversee a public relations strategy centered around building Higher Logic’s brand.
    • Identify and monitor emerging trends and work with the marketing team to develop and implement a PR plan.
    • Connect with media outlets, journalists and influencers to place stories using Higher Logic’s insights, thought leadership, and reports.
    • Manage day-to-day relationships with agency partners.
    • Provide media training as necessary for Executives performing TV, print, radio, podcast and other online interviews.
    • Collaborate with team members, including the executive team, to craft and pitch press releases.

    SOCIAL MEDIA

    • Develop a strategy for our social media channels designed to increase our brand and product awareness, develop and promote our company culture and drive engagement on the platforms.
    • Create and manage content across Higher Logic’s owned social channels including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.
    • Actively seek to grow Higher Logic’s social audience.
    • Monitor social media for engagement opportunities and content relevant to our work.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining website content, working in close collaboration with our website manager.

    THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

    • Pitch and secure speaking opportunities for the Higher Logic team members with the media and at conferences, special events, and other in-person and virtual events.
    • Create and maintain annual speaking engagements calendars and keep track of deadlines.
    • Draft and pitch opinion articles or blogs.

    INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

    • Support human resources as the primary writer and editor for a robust internal communications plan, including company highlights, employee stories, department changes and other communications on our community platform and other mediums, to enrich employee engagement.
    • Communication responsibilities include writing content for executives and CEO for town hall meetings, partnership with change management, email communications, internal communities, and others.
    • Capture content and employee stories that help build culture, employment brand, and the Higher Logic experience to make our company a destination employer and best place to work.
    • Run employment branding social media and Glassdoor campaigns.
    • Serve as a trusted partner and adviser to our senior executives, helping to proactively identify and solve for communication needs.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 2-4 years in corporate communications or public relations for a company or agency.
    • Previous experience working with executives and leading internal communications.
    • Writing sample will need to be provided.
    • Writing skills test will be administered.
    • 4-year degree (communications, journalism, marketing).
    • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
    • Strategic thinking/planning.
    • Executive presence - ability to interact with executives and maintain discretion with confidential information.
    • Excellent project management skills and proven ability to juggle multiple projects at one time.
    • Great attention to detail.
    • Strong PowerPoint presentations & speech-writing skills.
    • Ability to build relationships throughout the organization in multiple offices.
    • Team player (works well with communications colleagues and other teams across the organization).
    • Proficient in the use of PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and social media tools.
