Grading Superintendent – Heavy Highway/Bridge ($25M+ Projects) (Atlanta Metro)
Lead field execution on heavy highway and DOT projects valued at $25M+, with a primary focus on large-scale grading and earthwork operations. Oversee crews, equipment, and site logistics from mobilization through final completion for a well-established heavy highway contractor operating across the Southeast.

What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day field operations on heavy highway and DOT projects from mobilization through completion
- Direct grading and earthwork activities, including mass excavation, embankment, and roadway subgrade operations
- Coordinate crews, equipment, and daily work plans to maintain production, safety, and schedule
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and DOT representatives to drive field execution
- Monitor site conditions, sequencing, and productivity to support on-time project delivery
- Ensure compliance with DOT specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
- Provide leadership and direction to foremen and field crews
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Senior Field Leader on heavy highway or DOT projects
- Proven experience leading heavy highway projects valued at $25M+
- Strong background in grading and earthwork operations; underground utility work is supported separately
- Required DOT experience with one or more of the following: GDOT, SCDOT, NCDOT, VDOT, TxDOT, TDOT, or FDOT (Northern Florida)
- Ability to manage large crews, heavy equipment fleets, and complex site logistics
- Strong field leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and consistent execution
