A law firm located in Winter Park is seeking a Litigation Assistant to work in the firm’s Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Department. We are looking for someone with litigation experience for a very busy practice. Scheduling, e-filing, teamwork, organization are all important. The firm has great benefits and generous PTO.
Job Responsibilities and Skills –
- Open and manage case files, storing both electronic and hard copy documents.
- E-file documents in State and Federal court.
- Maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems.
- Draft and review correspondence and other legal documents in a grammatically correct manner.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Create, organize, and manage pleadings, attorney trial notebooks, and document indexes.
- Work seamlessly with internal departments at the firm, including the billing team for time entry.
- Other general litigation assistant duties and miscellaneous tasks, as needed.
Requirements –
- Ability to handle scheduling and deadline calendaring for a very busy practice with a high level of accuracy.
- Tech savvy with a minimum of 4+ years working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Can-do attitude and able to work well on a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to proofread drafted legal documents and correspondence.
- Occasional overtime may be needed.
