Responsibilities: Incorporate different ingredients in a creative way to produce fresh and innovative menu items and specials Make decisions for daily culinary operations, including exceeding guest expectations and increasing revenue and profit Supervise all food preparation in the kitchen, including procedures, portioning, garnishing, and ensure that all meals and dishes are attractively presented Review and track team member performance objectives, as well as offer guidance and assistance to support and promote an efficient kitchen As a Line cook, you would be responsible for participating in the preparation of food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards • Maintain cleanliness and food sanitation • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products • Stock and maintain par levels for designated food station(s) • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local, and company regulations Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests and other team members Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification such as a GED Strong leadership skills with experience leading, motivating, and developing a team Candidates need a strong understanding of compliance with kitchen safety and food storage requirements Compensation: $16 per hour
