    SUMMARY

    Responsible for effectively and proactively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her assigned market segments while implementing tactics to close business on assigned accounts to positively impact hotel revenues.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Conduct successful, aggressive sales solicitation process while meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals

    • Abide by Prime Time Selling established by Tharaldson Hospitality Management

    • Assist Director of Sales/Regional Director of sales in the preparation of the annual marketing plan, including plans covering assigned market segments.

    • Schedules sales appointments and conducts required amount of cold calls established

    • Organizes, maintains, and tracks sales data

    • Send proposals to all leads which fit the profile of the property and actively follow through to convert from proposal to definite status

    • Obtain, document, and route all necessary information on definite groups, including billing information, credit application, rooming list, and VIP arrangements

    • Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services withing approved booking guideline. Confirm in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract.

    • Conduct tours of the hotel and meeting space

    • Monitor production on all top accounts and evaluate trends within his/her assigned market segment.

    • Sends weekly recap of all sales activity and assigned follow-up action items for task force property to General Manager, Director of Sales, Regional Director of Sales and Corporate Director of Sales

    • All other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    One-year certificate from college or technical school required, four-year college degree preferred; two - five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE ABILITY

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or peers.

    MATH ABILITY

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software and internet
