    The Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte/Ayrsley is searching for a full time Front Desk Agent. This position must be flexible in working first shift (7am-3pm) as well as second shift (3pm-11pm), including weekends & holidays, and would average four to five shifts (FT). A combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. GENERAL PURPOSE *Responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing, and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. *Responds to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY * Greet and complete established check-in procedures for arriving guests on a daily basis, using both manual and computerized methods, in order to ensure guests are satisfied and in rooms as requested. *Ensure guests receive prompt, professional attention and personal recognition.*Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival. Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Implement appropriate service recovery gestures in order to ensure total guest satisfaction. * Regularly calculate and/or posts money, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit using accurate, proper cash handling methods in order to present the customer with timely and precise hotel charges upon check-out, while maintaining accurate hotel records. *Must be able to work weekends and holidays. EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE * Hilton experience is preferred but not required. *Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. *Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error. *Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. *Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform behind the front desk. Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. *Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons. *Command of the English language both written and verbal. *Professional appearance needed. *We maintain a drug-free work environment and complete pre-employment drug and criminal background/credit checks.
