    The Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte Ayrsley is seeking a Food and Beverage Supervisor

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Our Supervisor will manually set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms, banquet events, and accompanying storage areas are in accordance with Hilton’s standard of quality and efficiency.

    Must be highly flexible among scheduling; and be available any day of the week, including weekends and holidays

    Duties include:

    Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the Banquet Event Order and the guest. This includes physical activity in transporting materials such as tables, chairs, food chafers, dance floors, etc. from storage area to meeting rooms.

    Host events: Supply and replenish meeting rooms with various food and beverage items throughout the event.

    Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to storage closet (when necessary) so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.

    Make sure all areas of storage (cabinets, closets, storage rooms) and meeting rooms are clean and organized before the end of the shift.

    Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.

    Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.

    Ensure all health inspections meet required state standards.

    Supervise all front of the house employees, banquet functions and bar operations.

    Maintain a high level of operational awareness.

    Assist with end of the month inventorying as well as profit and loss control.

    Leadership skills with an ability to train, to motivate, and to create a team environment.

    Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to resolve conflicts.

    Experience and Skills

    Experience with the Micros POS system is preferred.

    The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Previous banquets experience is preferred but not required; examples ~ meeting room setup/breakdown, banquet buffet service, plated banquet service, and translating Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) toward successful meeting room and banquet functions.

    Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms. For example: different table types (round, classroom, etc.).

    Ability to understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), diagrams and verbal job requests from supervisor and guests.

    Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 60 lbs. through a crowded room. This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down.

    Experience:

    Prior hotel/hospitality experience with meetings and banquets preferred but not required.
