    Job Description

    A technology client is seeking a BACKEND DEVELOPER responsible for managing the interchange of data between the users, client-side applications, and databases. One of the key responsibilities will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

    This is a remote position. We welcome candidates from any location. Resumes are to be submitted in English. We do not provide visa sponsorship at this moment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Development of server-side logic, including APIs and views.
    • Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers.
    • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
    • Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.
    • Maintain database, data-stores, application, and WebSocket servers.
    • Implementation of security and data protection.
    • Integration of third party databases, APIs, and monitoring tools.
    • Devise and execute simple deployment and autoscaling strategies.
    • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong proficiency in Node.js, frameworks (e.g. Express), and JavaScript.
    • Good understanding of server-side templating languages, front-end technologies, fundamental design principles, HTML5, and CSS.
    • Strong understanding of asynchronous Javascript
    • Experience with common API formats (e.g. JSON, XML, Websockets)
    • Knowledge of strong encryption methodologies, and common authentication patterns.
    • Understanding accessibility and security compliance.
    • Experience developing database schemas and ORMs that both support business processes and promote scalability.
    • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
