    We’re looking to hire a CONTROLLER to oversee our corporate accounting team in Concord, California. This role will lead the monthly financial statement consolidations process and ensure the accurate presentation of the corporate financials.

    CONTROLLER – POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead, mentor and guide the corporate accounting staff (you’ll directly manage a team of 4-5).
    • Provide oversight of all account reconciliations and trial balances, review journal entries for accuracy.
    • Ensure the quality and timeliness of corporate accounting reporting including performing the final review of all cost reports and Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules for reasonableness and accuracy, identifying any under billings, and review of job cost accruals.
    • Responsible for the consolidated reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including financial metrics, ratios, and benchmarking results.
    • Participate in business planning objectives, methods, and resources of the short and long-range financial projections of the Company.
    • Continuously monitor the financial operations of the Company to ensure compliance with budgets including budget versus actual analysis for 25+ corporate departments.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with finance managers to ensure consistent and accurate reporting from all companies and divisions, including maintaining a standardized chart of accounts.
    • Develop and implement standard accounting policies and procedures for the Company and ensure compliance with corporate and government regulations (we need you to be our resource for all relevant FASB pronouncements or updates to GAAP).
    • Lead annual financial statement audit conducted by third-party CPA firm, including coordination of necessary financial information to complete the audit on time and within budget.
    • Perform key role for all ongoing ERP upgrades or future software implementation (you’ll work closely with team members to successfully implement any changes to our accounting systems and make recommendations for improvements).
    • Other ad hoc reporting and financial responsibilities as assigned.

    CORPORATE CONTROLLER – QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • Prior experience in a hands-on management level role
    • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, as well as state and local accounting regulations
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivots, vlookups, SUMIFs, macros)
    • Ability to successfully work under pressure, handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

    CONTROLLER – QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED)

    • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or similar licensing a plus
    • Prior experience with construction accounting / exposure to work-in-progress (WIP) schedules
