    We are seeking a Healthcare Associate Principal or Principal to join our Northern California Healthcare team.

    The Healthcare Associate Principal or Principal will have prior experience in the healthcare design field with a successful track record in operations/practice management and business development. This Sacramento-based Healthcare Associate Principal or Principal will assist the Corporate Healthcare Market Lead in implementing the overall market strategy, including building successful operations, market, and practice environments, as well as promoting staff development, mentoring, and strategic hires.

    As The Healthcare Associate Principal/Principal you will:

    • Provide leadership and direction for the development and management of the healthcare practice.
    • Manage profitability, revenue and staffing for the Sacramento Healthcare Studio.
    • Manage the studio’s staffing pyramid and ensure resources are allocated properly, not only in the Sacramento Healthcare studio, but working with other studio leaders for Healthcare resources across the firm.
    • Act as a mentor and coach and motivate healthcare project teams and individuals, fostering an environment of mutual respect and trust among members of the group as it grows and develops.
    • Support the development and execution of marketing and business development strategies in Northern California, through strategic client pursuits, tailored marketing efforts, and proactively nurturing existing clients and bringing in repeat business.
    • Review fee proposals and check allocated resources for profitability, and monitor the ongoing financial management of projects.
    • Develop scope of services and assist project managers in negotiations for new and existing contracts/additional services.
    • Accomplish key performance indicators and service level agreements as identified by clients and conduct regular Quality Control/Quality Assurance Audits.
    • Demonstrate a proven understanding and proactive development of interrelationships among disciplines and service groups and ensure productive working relationship with all in-house services.
    • Promote the use of lessons learned and the firm systems and standards.
    • Cultivate and grow new and existing industry partnerships, which are consistent with the firm’s strategic marketing and business plan.
    • Develop key strategies to develop teams and branded approaches to target core project types, collaborating with the corporate Healthcare Market lead and support staff in the development of proposal content. Participate in shortlist project selection interviews.
    • Provide senior-level leadership for the planning, programming, design, technical and/or management leadership and direction for the execution of significant Healthcare projects.
    • Contribute to staff’s professional growth and continued performance improvement.

    Healthcare Associate Principal/Principal Qualifications – The Must-Haves (Required)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Experience in lieu of the Architecture degree may be considered if experience is directly related to the marketing, planning, design, implementation, and operation of Healthcare Architecture Facilities).
    • Significant prior experience in the healthcare design field.
    • Licensed Architect required and additional professional credentials including ACHA, EDAC, and LEED AP preferred.
    • Strong technical and local regulatory knowledge including OSHPD.
    • Experience with Integrated Project Delivery and/or Lean Project Delivery Concepts is a plus.
    • Candidates must be willing and able to travel for project assignments.
    • Exceptional written, verbal and graphic communication skills.
