    As the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources department and team as well as develop initiatives and programs to further long-term strategic goals that are foundational to the firm’s future. As a member of firm management reporting directly to the President, this position collaborates and strategizes in the development and execution of firm goals and objectives.

    Specific job duties:

    • Oversee and manage the firm’s Human Resources department including direct supervision and mentoring of Human Resources Generalist and Human Resources Assistant.
    • Collaborates with senior leaders and identifies ways to support the firm’s vision by establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
    • Partners with management to understand and execute the firm’s talent strategy as it relates to current and future needs in recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
    • Serves as a trusted advisor to management in matters related to professional development, employee performance and engagement, diversity and inclusion, and strategic planning.
    • Monitors and ensures the firm’s compliance with federal, state (CA and HI), and local employment laws and regulations, and works cross-functionally to identify, assess, and mitigate firm risk.
    • In coordination with the CFO, reviews compensation strategies and implementation and manages the budget for the human resource department.
    • Oversees professional development programs and initiatives that provide learning and development opportunities for employees to grow to their full potential.
    • Manages outside relationships such as attorneys, recruiters, benefit and 401(k) representatives, professional development facilitators, and industry partners including periodic review and shopping of firm benefit offerings.
    • Creates and monitors the practice of ethical, consistent, and equitable employment practices, communication strategies, and business processes.
    • Champions the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts.
    • Advises on employee issues, disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations.
    • Plays a key role in merger and acquisition activities, including strategy, evaluation, integration and training.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
    • Participates in firmwide management initiatives and committees.

    A successful Director of Human Resources (HR) is an excellent relationship builder and has the ability to create trust quickly within all levels of the firm. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and you are also a collaborative problem-solver.

    Director of Human Resources (HR) Qualifications – The Must Have’s (Required)

    • Expertise and knowledge in the human resources areas of employment law, benefits, recruitment, performance management, compensation and professional development.
    • Prior experience in a role overseeing and managing a human resources team.
    • Ability to interact and connect positively with both senior leaders and staff.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

    Director of Human Resources (HR) Qualifications – The Like To Have’s (Not Required)

    • HR professional designation (PHR / SPHR / SHRM)
    • Prior experience working with employees in a multi-office environment
    • Prior experience working on acquisitions / M&A
    • Prior experience working in a professional services environment or “billable hour” environment. Added bonus if you have construction or architecture/engineering industry experience!

    Compensation DOE. We offer health benefits, competitive paid time off, 401k and eligibility for generous performance-based bonuses! In addition, you have the option to work a 9/8/80 schedule, which means every other Friday off!
