This is a newly created role as part of our leadership succession plan and to continue to expand our commitment to putting people first.

    Human Resources (HR) Coordinator - Your Job Duties:

    In this role, you will work in several areas of Human Resources (HR) including compliance matters (estimated to be 50% of your role), employee relations (20%), recruitment (20%), and strategic initiatives (5-10%).  

    Human Resources Compliance

    • Continually ensuring company is up-to-date and compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
    • Work directly with third-party legal counsel on annual employee handbook.
    • Administration and oversight of all required trainings (ie: harassment prevention training).

    Employee Relations

    • Serve as a resolution point-of-contact for all employee related matters.
    • Administer performance appraisal process (twice per year).
    • Assist with employee retention initiatives including company picnic, update meetings and community service initiatives.
    • Work with third-party benefits administrator regarding employee benefits programs, and periodic review of benefits and compensation for market competitiveness and benchmarking.

    Recruitment

    • Perform company recruitment efforts at all levels within the company, from trade labor to back office.

    Human Resources Strategy

    • Provide recommendations to management and assist with creation of human resources initiatives and strategies including new initiatives and programs (ie: service initiatives, wellness programs, new benefit offerings, analysis of human resources metrics to make recommendations).  

    Human Resources (HR) Coordinator – Required Skills, Experience & Work Ethic

    • 4 year degree in human resources, organizational behavior, psychology or related transferable degree
    • Prior experience working with human resources (HR) compliance matters
    • Ability and comfort with public speaking and facilitating training presentations
    • Adaptability – you will be working with all levels with both field personnel and in-office personnel and must be able to communicate effectively with trade labor, build credibility and respect

    A successful Human Resources (HR) Coordinator in this role is someone who communicates effectively, successfully juggles multiple priorities, and quickly earns the respect of our leadership team and labor force.

    Human Resources (HR) Coordinator – Desired, Not Required

    • Human Resources (HR) license (ie: PHR, SHRM, SPHR or related)
    • Prior safety and/or Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) experience or exposure
    • Prior experience working in the construction industry
    • Prior experience with hiring and recruitment in the trades (union or non-union)  

    This role is located in office daily. Compensation DOE including incentive opportunities. We cover 100% of the cost for medical, dental, vision for both you and your family. You will also receive paid time off and paid holidays.

    You will also have access to an exercise room located in our facility on location.
