Payroll Specialist – Your Job Duties
You will serve as an integral team member as part of our Payroll team.
- You will work on a team of three payroll specialists, assisting with the preparation and processing of the organization’s payroll, for up to 1900 employees.
- You will help processes bi-weekly payroll in compliance with federal and state law which includes data entry, computing payroll, printing checks, process positive pay file.
- You will assist with keying, entry and terminations processing including issuing manual checks.
- You will calculates final check amounts for terminations ensuring that amounts are accurate and without error.
- You will process wage garnishments, tax liens, child supports orders and other deductions.
- You will prepare reports including daily labor report and monthly head count reports.
- You will assist with resolving questions from employees related to payroll.
- You will help with ensuring that time cards are approved by management in accordance with the payroll processing deadline.
This role reports to the Payroll Manager.
Payroll Specialist – Required Skills, Experience & Personality Fit
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- You are reliable, have a positive attitude and are not afraid to ask questions when you don’t know the answer
- Able to work in office in Sacramento five (5) days per week
- Prior knowledge of payroll, working in a payroll department or payroll support role (desired, not required)
Compensation DOE. Full-time, hourly non-exempt. Located in office in our headquarter office in Sacramento California. Schedule is flexible between the hours of 7:30am and 8:30am with end time between 4pm and 5pm.
