    Generation Development is an urban residential development company specializing in new construction. Our corporate office is seeking an accounting professional to join our growing team.

     About the Opportunity

    It is an exciting time at Generation Development as we have launched our own general contracting business and are continuing to acquire and design new development projects. The Accounting Administrator position offers the opportunity to help an established developer grow into a vertically integrated firm. We are looking for an accounting professional who is well versed in all aspects of bookkeeping, accounting and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is not afraid to get his/her hands dirty and can hit the ground running. This person will be a natural problem solver who loves a challenge!

     Job Responsibilities:

    • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
    • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
    • Documents financial transactions by entering account information (AP/AR).
    • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
    • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
    • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
    • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
    • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
    • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
    • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
    • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

    This is a part-time position starting at 15 – 20 hours/week. We have a very flexible work environment. There is some opportunity to work from home as well as in-person office time collaborating with the team. The Accounting Administrator reports directly to the VP of Finance. Some builder/developer experience preferred, but not required.

     Required Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting/finance
    • Mastery of accounting functions including AR/AP, journal entries and financial reporting
    • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
    • Proficiency with MS Office Software (Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint) and Google Suite
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • High level of self-motivation to independently learn and problem solve
    • Strong attention to detail and deadline orientation
    • Superior time management skills
    • Strong set of personal values that align with the company
    • Have a positive Experience with job costing in a construction/real estate development setting preferred
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

    • $22 - $24 per hour DOE
