Job Description

Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Corporate office and reporting to the Zurn Elkay Corporate Accounting Manager, the Accounting Associate is responsible for assisting with the preparation of accurate & transparent financial reporting.  This role will partner with members throughout the Zurn Elkay Finance team to ensure financial processes meet Corporate standards.  Zurn Elkay Accounting Associate will act with a continuous improvement mindset and play a critical role in implementing month-end close best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform various month-end closing duties, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations for accounts such as cash, AR, AP and various other prepaids/accruals.
• Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation. 
• Assist in driving continuous improvement in financial close process.
• Assist with ad-hoc, special projects including integration assistance of future acquisition targets. 
• Assist with internal/external audit coordination. 
• Collaborate with members of the Finance team to ensure compliance to US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate policies and procedures and local statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to clearly communicate information
• Strong problem solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks
• Highly motivated with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of processes to facilitate continuous improvement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and particularly strong Excel skills involving pivot tables and dynamic formulas
