    Job Description

    HIRETECH GROUP HAS A CLIENT NEAR PITTSBURGH, PA LOOKING FOR AN SAP ADMINISTRATOR. The SAP Administrator’s role is to supervise and operate the organization’s SAP systems through implementation best practices. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company’s investments in proprietary SAP technologies. The SAP Administrator is also responsible for planning and coordinating the change management of processes required for the support of SAP systems necessary for business operations. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to solve issues related to the deployment of mission-critical SAP software.

    In addition, some SAP Security skills and willingness to learn and adapt to non-SAP software is also required

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Strategy & Planning

    • Ensure that SAP software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues.
    • Develop and oversee the SAP change management process across the organization in all affected areas.
    • Ensure that SAP deployment enhances operating systems, networks, telecommunications, or other areas where it is deployed.

     

    Acquisition & Deployment

    • Recommend any additional hardware or software requirements needed for successful SAP deployments, configuration, or maintenance.
    • Assign the appropriate staff to work on projects where SAP software is involved.
    • Negotiate contracts with SAP software and service providers.
    • Liaise with company’s SAP suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
    • Evaluate proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.

     

    Operational Management

    • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy SAP applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
    • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of SAP software programs and applications.
    • Ensure that any SAP integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
    • Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the SAP system; install and configure patches and upgrades as required.
    • Prepare and deliver activity and progress reports for presentation to the executive management team.
    • Provide direction for the application team in support of SAP operations.
    • Coordinate feasibility studies for SAP products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
    • Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with design specifications, program logic, and data conversions.

     

    Position Requirements

     

    Knowledge & Experience

    • At least 5 years direct experience administrating SAP applications (i.e. SAP Basis, APO, BW, etc.).
    • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of SAP software solutions, including ECC, Portal, TREX, BOBJ and connecting systems like BSI, connectors to Ariba Cloud etc.
    • Solid Unix, Oracle, SQL Server skills.
    • Knowledge of enterprise-level applications, including ERP, Quorum, etc.

     

    Formal Education & Certification

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent and 7 years equivalent work experience.
