Now Hiring: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Service-Based Business Expertise (Remote)

    • Must reside in: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, WA- We will not hire anyone from a state that is not listed here!!

We're How to Manage a Small Law Firm , one of Inc. Magazine's fastest-growing private companies since 2013.
We help 500+ small law firms nationwide grow stronger through outsourced CEO, COO, CFO, CMO, and bookkeeping services.

We're looking for a financial leader who wants the best of both worlds :
A steady stream of clients handed to you + the entrepreneurial freedom to build and scale something meaningful — without the stress of hunting for your own business.

If you're brilliant at growing service-based companies but frustrated by the limits of your current role, this may be the perfect fit.

    Is This You?

You might love this role if you…

    • Don't want to find your own clients anymore but still want the upside of advising multiple businesses.

    • Live in a region where building a consulting practice has been tough and want a company that brings the clients to you.

    • Are tired of industries that drain you — cannabis, crypto, financial services, etc. — and want to work with business owners who actually appreciate your expertise.

    • Want unlimited earning potential with the structure, systems, and support of a larger organization.

    • Have a growth mindset and know you can make much more when surrounded by the right team, clients, and infrastructure.

    • Want to be entrepreneurial — without being alone, overwhelmed, or responsible for sales, marketing, and lead gen.

Why We're Not Obsessed With Law Firm Experience

We work with law firms — but law firm experience is NOT a required prerequisite.
What matters more is your experience growing service-based businesses , your understanding of small-business finance, and your ability to translate numbers into action.

Law firm experience is a plus , not a gatekeeper.

    What You'll Do

Serve as Fractional CFO for 20–30 small law firm clients:

    • Meet with clients twice per month (≈60 hrs/month client-facing)

    • Analyze financials, identify risks/opportunities, and create actionable plans

    • Hold clients accountable and drive execution

    • Partner with bookkeepers for accuracy

    • Improve systems, processes, and financial visibility

    What We're Looking For

    • 10+ years as CFO, Controller, or senior financial leader

    • Strong background in service-based businesses

    • Experience starting, scaling, or advising small companies

    • Strong budgeting, FP&A, forecasting, and variance analysis

    • Ability to clean up financials and build strong systems

    • Leadership experience (managed 5+ people)

    • High EQ, direct communicator, coach-minded

Again: Law firm experience is a plus — not a must-have.

This Role Is NOT for You If:

    • You bounce between jobs or want short-term/part-time work

    • You want a slow-paced corporate environment

    • You prefer being an employee, not an owner-minded leader

    • You dislike accountability or managing multiple clients

    • You can't translate numbers into clear business decisions

    • You've never supported or led a small-to-mid-size service firm

    Compensation

    • Base Salary: $110,000

    • Performance Pay: Up to $182,000 annually depending on client roster
Your earning potential scales with your impact — not your hours.

    Important Notes

    • Remote, full-time

    • Must reside in: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, WA

    • Equal Opportunity Employer
