HHT Mission:
To offer events for everyone by providing all types of entertainment for the City of Hemet, the San Jacinto Valley, Riverside and San Bernadino Counties. We provide a platform for Performing Arts, Education, Community Service, Volunteering, and Job Opportunities for the community while being Financially Successful/Self-Sustaining. The Historic Hemet Theatre is a major component of the area’s quality of life.
Job Responsibilities:
Understands the overall mission and concept of the HHT, including the 4-C's for the 4-P's (Courtesy, Comfort, Cleanliness, and Competency for the Patron, Promoter, Performer, and fellow Personnel), the 10' Rule, and Enthusiasm!
Works to understand all facets of the venue, event, and entertainment business.
Know the HHT's capabilities, capacities, rental structure, organization, etc.
Reports to the General Manager and liaison to Board of Directors.
Rotates through all departments to get a full understanding of the theater/venue /entertainment management industry.
Accepts designated business-focused projects, including research, ideas/solutions, surveys, SOP’s, and project reports during the internship.
Engages with 4 P’s and provides services and/or sales.
Provides suggestions to GM for improving customer service and internal processes.
Learns and becomes proficient with ticketing and internal software systems.
Upholds the HHT philosophy.
Specific Projects include:
Competitive Venue Surveys (rent, staffing costs, equipment costs, etc.).
SMERFF research and sales (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Research and contact organization.
Revise HHT documents as required.
On-the-Job Training as a Greeter, Secutity/Crowd Manager, Ticket Sales, Ticket Taker, Usher, Stagehand/Load-in-Load-out, Production, Concessionaire, Receptionist, and Event Coordinator as required.
Assist in communication and coordination with Event Promoters, Production, Agents, and Managers.
Creation of Department SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures).
At the end of the Intership, the Intern is to write a report for the university, on an aspect of the industry, venue SOP's, and venue management concepts learned during the Internship.
Work Hours & Benefits:
Ability to commit to 3-4 Shifts of 4+ hours per shift per week. Shifts will be made to accommodate the Interns' schedule.
Ability to work some nights/events, weekends and holidays.
This is a non-paid, credit/experience based, and resume building position.
Benefits can include event tickets to shows you are not working, introduction to the IAVM (International Association of Venue Managers- Student Membership) is available, introduction to APAP (Association of Performing Arts Professionals), resume building experience, industry contact introductions, and references provided by HHT.

Must be people-oriented, customer service focused, and welcoming.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to speak to customers and crowds)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential company information.
Proven Interest in entertainment, venue management and event management.
Prior experience in customer service, working in a structured organization/team and flexibility.
