    Job Description

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will manage all manufacturing aspects at the Kings Chapel Plant, Troy, Ohio. The successful candidate will manage the 1st shift production team and be responsible for the off-shift Production Coordinator. The primary responsibility of this role is managing the day-to-day operation at Kings Chapel. This includes scheduling production, project management, talent development, implementing manufacturing best practices, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The Kings Chapel plant represents one of the largest investment and growth areas at Hobart Brothers. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping our future and helping us reach our full potential at the Kings Chapel Plant.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Accountable for meeting Operational metrics for the Kings Chapel plant.
      • Manage production and warehouse inventories, scheduling production and overtime as needed.
      • Analyze product consumption and manufacturing data to establish inventory targets.
      • Analyze data collected from scrap and hold tags to create and drive projects focused on continuous improvement.
      • Maintain employee training and other facility-specific records such as scrap, hold tags, staffing information, and safety data.
      • Develop and implement savings initiatives related to operating expenses, scrap reduction, and labor expense.
    • Build plant culture around ITW Leadership expectations: integrity, respect, trust, shared risk, and simplicity.
      • Create/maintain safety awareness through OPX and develop corrective actions for safety concerns.
      • Build relationships, be visible, communicate, and encourage creativity and innovation across shifts and throughout the organization.
      • Develop and coach direct and indirect employees for future roles and responsibilities.
    • Knowledge of ITW Toolbox (Lean Manufacturing) concepts and ambition to apply them.
      • Develop and drive continuous improvement projects.
      • Teach and lead toolbox projects and concepts with employees.
      • Contributes and participates in toolbox projects as time allows across the division.
    • Collaborate and support other departments at Kings Chapel crucial to manufacturing success, such as accounting, human resources, quality, and the reliability team.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer tours, vendors, contractors, and service providers at Kings Chapel Plant.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Business. Candidates nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree may be considered.
    • Three to five years of prior manufacturing leadership experience, management of production employees in a multi-shift operation preferred.
    • Ability to flex working hours to support the off shifts outside of core working hours.
    • Prior experience leading or participating in ITW Toolbox projects (Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects) in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven problem-solving skills to include analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Be customer-focused with management, support staff, customers, and suppliers; understand how the business functions link together to support the customer (i.e., engineering, materials, and sales).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Support communication across departments and manufacturing facilities.
    • Exhibit encouragement of diverse ideas, focus on coaching/developing team members' strengths, and facilitate effective communication between shifts.
    • Skilled at performance management, providing formal and informal feedback to employees.
    • Possess the track record of a proven leader and team player, demonstrates a positive attitude, takes personal accountability, coaches, listens, is approachable, and resolves issues/conflicts promptly.
    • Must be self-driven, able to motivate others, identify needs, and show the ability to make things happen with little supervision.
    • Knowledge of operating systems beyond Microsoft Office; Route Card or other production systems, Dayforce and Microsoft D365 experience a plus.
