HIS Innovations Group is an ISO9001:2015 certified, premier manufacturer and distributor of custom and off-the-shelf stainless-steel components and systems. These products are used in high vacuum (HV) and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems within a variety of industries, including semiconductor, biopharmaceutical, aerospace and defense, national research laboratories, and others.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: As a Buyer for HIS, you will be responsible for the sourcing of new suppliers, negotiating purchase price/terms, ensuring products/materials meet technical specifications, and evaluating supplier performance, to ensure timely delivery of supplies and materials.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

• Responsible for procurement/purchasing activities on assigned projects/vendors
• Analyzes RFQ information, price and lead time details to select the best vendor
• Prepares, reviews, and issues POs to proper vendor
• Maintains accurate data in ERP system for incoming materials and sub-assemblies
• Builds relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing structures and payment terms
• Coordinates shipping & receiving on PO’s, including overseas shipments
• Identifies and communicates current and potential shortfalls in supply chain, supplying alternate solutions to meet manufacturing requirements
• Populates and presents information to team members based on ERP system dash boards
• Tracks and monitors status of POs for shipping and actual delivery dates
• Provides management with monthly vendor performance metrics.
• Works with quality control team and lead the communication with vendors to resolve discrepancies in quality or quantity of materials
• Research and identify perspective suppliers insuring they meet the required standards.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE: 

• Associates degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
• Minimum of two years of experience in a purchasing role.
• CPM or APICS certification preferred 
• Positive team player with strong and concise verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working independently and with small teams.
• Strong understanding of procurement process, BKMs, and inventory management
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Experience communicating with foreign vendors clearly and in a timely manner
• Experience with international logistics including import/customs procedures, preferred.        
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Experience using a purchasing ERP system, preferably Global Shop Solutions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift 15 pounds
