JOB SUMMARY
Business development through the marketing of our dedicated truck fleet to new clients and the ability to grow our existing customer base.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages a lead prospecting pipeline and maintains accurate information about prospects and their companies.
- Ability to close business and acquire new clients
- Identifies prospective customers using business directories, following leads from existing customers and through internal lead development sources.
- Monitors market and industry conditions as well as competitors services and prices.
- Negotiate and quote rates with customers and discusses traffic lanes.
- Prepares RFP and bids.
- Prepares sales presentations and capabilities proposals.
- Conducts colds calls as well as direct customer visits.
- Maintains effective territory plans to maximize and leverage market.
- Conducts quarterly business reviews with customers discussing KPIs, service, etc.
- Adjusts sales scripts, as needed, to better target the needs and interests of specific customers.
- Works closely and collaboratively with other members of the sales team to ensure overall company success.
- Participates in company meetings and marketing events.
- Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but will consider extensive experience also
- 5+ years sales experience in dedicated transportation
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management
- Ability to close new business deals
- Up to 50% travel
