    Job Description

    We're a small (very cool) business in Bellingham that packages and ships essential products for dogs and cats. We're looking to add a significant role to our team - Operations Manager. The full job description is below but ultimately, we're looking for strong, experienced leadership to help guide our rapidly growing company. We sell to wholesale pet channels as well as direct to consumer. This role is hands-on and oversees fulfillment, quality control, supply chain, and works closely with sales and marketing. It's a bit of a generalist position with the opportunity to grow with the company. We follow the CDC protocols on space considerations, disinfect multiple times a day, and have gloves/masks available for anyone that works. If you'd like to be considered for the job, please know that that sometimes, you do need to lift 40 pounds. Additionally, it's an active job so you are walking and moving a decent amount. Operations Manager for a super great pet treats company RESPONSIBILITIES • Supply chain management – direct responsibility • Oversee inventory management, ordering of raw materials and finished products • Regularly scheduled physical inventories • Manage all Bellingham office functions including IT (via third party contractor), phones, cc processing – all direct responsibility Manage personnel with primary responsibility for: • Quality control/compliance for all products & company practices (1 HC) • Track all QC issues through resolution • Thoroughly document, investigate, and report on all complaints, inquiries, issues and recommend & implement corrective action • Ensure regulatory and quality compliance with necessary regulatory bodies including required audits by third parties • Oversee, maintain and ensure compliance of all SOP’s related to product regulatory compliance and quality control • Fulfillment including all shipping, receiving, inventory (2 HC) • Management of in-house shipping and shipping by third party warehouse on East Coast • Review/management of charges for shipping via USPS, UPS and LTL • Track inventory including oversight of third-party warehouse in preparation for regular ordering to ensure timely receipt of product ready for sale • In house accounting including payroll, banking, QB reporting (1 HC) • Management of payroll, receivables, payables, banking, credit card processing • Other tasks and responsibilities as may be needed or appropriate in the normal course of business operations related to service and outreach, product inspection and fulfillment, vendor relations, internal and external communications, and other tasks as directed by management. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS • 3-5 Years’ experience: • MS Word, Excel, PPT • Supply Chain Management (including Procurement) • Inventory Management • Exception Customer Service – internal and external • People Management • Shipping/Receiving (preferred) • QuickBooks or equivalent (preferred) • Quality Control/Compliance (preferred) • College Degree (preferred) • Accountability: ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. • Accuracy: perform work accurately and thoroughly. • Detail Oriented: pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. • Honesty / Integrity: represent the utmost truth regardless of how uncomfortable. • Organized: following a systematic method of performing a task. • Communication: communicate effectively verbally or in writing, person to person, or to a group. • Reliability: dependable and trustworthy. • Responsible: accountable or answer for your conduct. • Self-Motivated: independent thinking that is internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one’s ability using his/her own drive or initiative. • Problem Solving: find a solution for or to deal pro-actively with work-related problems. • Interpersonal: ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals • Tolerance: Ability to work successfully with a variety of people without bias. • Time Management: utilize the available time to organize/complete work within deadlines. • Ability to regularly lift packages up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
