    HOLLY HUNT is a sales and service organization, as well as designer and maker of high-end interior design furniture, lighting, textiles, leather, and rugs. HOLLY HUNT’S “to the trade” customers are interior designers and architects. 85 to 90 percent of business revenue is generated from residential purchases, while 10 to 15 percent is generated from contract, corporate or hospitality purchases.

     

    GENERAL PURPOSE:

    Performs activities associated with cutting fabric and leather for custom upholstered furniture

    TASK/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Duties may include some or all of the following:

    Must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:

    • Good eye for detail.
    • Ability to compare the correct fabric to the correct PO #.
    • Must be able to use a computer to do research on the internet.
    • Able to lay out patterns compared to swatch.
    • Requires heavy lifting at times.
    • Able to work independently.
    • Knowledge of how to utilize hand stapler and general hand tools.
    • Simple grasping of tools and products 67-100% of the workday.
    • Push/Pull products on the line 34-100% of the workday.
    • Firm grasping of tools and products 67-100% of the workday.
    • Standing 67 to 100% of the workday.
    • Bending from the waist 67-100% of the workday.
    • Reaching 67-100% of the workday.
    • Communicate to supervisor when to order more materials.
    • Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
    • Inspect products or materials for damage, defects, or shortages.
    • Cut and trim fabric or leather.
    • Recognize characteristics of fabric and leather.
    • Able to read a tape measure and operate electric hand shears.
    • Must be able to do daily maintenance on cutting utensils.

     

     SAFETY:

    • Dispose of trash, empty boxes, straps, broken pallets, and other debris necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Operate equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
    • Minimize inventory loss by handling and storing merchandise properly.
    • Inform management of unsafe conditions and acts.
    • Maintain a clean environment.

    • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including attendance, quality, and safety guidelines.

     

    The foregoing tasks, duties and responsibilities need to be performed in a timely manner, to meet the everyday operating need of the department.

     

    Required Skills

    • Ability to lift and move minimum 75 POUNDS individually and up to 200 POUNDS as team lift on a regular basis.
    • Ability to lift and move bulky merchandise on a regular basis.
    • Ability to stock and retrieve merchandise from various heights, ranging from the floor level up to the ceiling of the facility.
    • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
    • Ability to work overtime or different shifts based on business needs.
