    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Holstrom, Block & Parke, a respected and growing law firm with offices located throughout Southern California, is seeking an Accounting Manager. The position is based in our Corona office and is a great opportunity for an accounting and finance professional to grow with our firm.

    The Accounting Manager will have the responsibility of managing the Firm’s overall financial functions. In this role, you will be expected to evaluate and report on financial performance and financial obligations. This position reports directly to the managing partner and oversees the accounting and finance department.

    Responsibilities of the role include: This key individual will be responsible for the overall operations of the accounting department and will play an essential role in ensuring that all financial responsibilities are complete and accurate.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Manage all daily finance and accounting operations
    • Prepare daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports and statements, as well as productivity reports
    • Oversee compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
    • Work as the liaison for the law firm and all financial functions
    • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting
    • Oversee client trust accounting and management of state bar accounts
    • Develop and enforce appropriate internal financial controls to protect the firm
    • Ensure payroll is accurately processed via third party payroll company and all related reporting and compliance requirements are met
    • Oversee cash function of the company
    • Perform month-end closing, including analysis of operation costs and results
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Financial reporting
    • AP/AR
    • Day-to-day accounting
    • Other related duties as assigned and needed by the department and the company

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advance degree a plus.
    • 5+ years of accounting experience required
    • Experience with multiple legal entities, consolidations, inter-company transactions
    • Advanced level Excel skills required
    • Ability to be adaptable to change with a positive and energetic attitude
    • Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong attention to detail
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage multiple deadlines effectively
    • Research and apply GAAP

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of QuickBooks
    • Experience managing accounting functions/team/department
    • CPA
    • Preferred experience a combination of public accounting within the last 2 years and private industry experience
    • Experience in start-up environment
    • Experience with property taxes
    • Experience in Mid-tier National to Big 4 firm
