Job Description
Competency Restoration Trainers needed for intellectually disabled clients who have been found incompetent to stand trial due to an intellectual disability. Ideal part time opportunity for homemakers with free time during the weekday, Seniors looking for weekday opportunities, military spouses or anyone wanting to cutback and manage their own schedule. Clients are located in Taylor County, Levy County, Columbia County, and Hamilton County. Training involves the objective of assisting clients to understand the six main areas of the judicial process within a specified period of time. The required frequency is 8 hours face-to-face per month. In-home visits a must. Must have dependable transportation. Applicant MUST undergo a background check, be proficient in operating a computer, be able to submit a report about training progress every six months using Microsoft WORD and have basic "fill-in-the-blank" excel skills. Applicant should have at least a bachelor's degree, but equivalent work experience can replace education requirement. Experience preferably in social services, working with developmentally disabled and/or mental health. Applicant must have dependable transportation and be willing to work throughout the two counties listed and some nearby areas if needed. Services are paid monthly and reported on a 1099 annually. Pay is based on experience. Starting pay is: $25.00 to 28.00 per hour - based on experience and/or skill set. Must have a PC or laptop, Microsoft Word and Excel and regular access to WIFI when completing documentation (cloud based). Positions available immediately. 6-12 hours per week to start. Ideal for part-time work; can advance to full-time. Travel is only required to go to where trainees live or in the county jail. (Most travel time is less than one hour away).
