Position Overview
The Referral Producer Marketer is responsible for generating new client admissions by building, nurturing, and managing a robust network of professional community referral sources. This is a high-volume, field-heavy role that requires strategic daily routing, strong emotional intelligence, and aggressive pursuit of business targets. The ideal candidate transforms the agency from a passive service into a preferred regional provider.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Referral Management
Execute heavy field outreach, conducting 10–12 face-to-face visits daily with potential referral sources.
Build an active lead pipeline from senior living facilities, skilled nursing centers (SNFs), hospitals, and case managers.
Diversify referral streams by securing partnerships with elder law attorneys, wealth advisors, and estate planners.
Manage the referral cycle directly from the initial business lead to the formal hand-off for client intake.
Strategy & Territory Accountability
Pre-plan weekly routing schedules to maximize geographic cost-effectiveness and account touchpoints.
Maintain detailed CRM logs (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho) tracking daily visits, notes, and individual account metrics.
Analyze competitor patterns and broader market trends to consistently refine local sales strategies.
Deliver educational presentations or clinical "in-services" to healthcare partners showcasing agency value.
Relationship & Community Engagement
Represent the agency at regional healthcare forums, networking groups, senior centers, and chamber events.
Provide immediate issue resolution for discharging partners to establish the agency as a dependable problem-solver.
Gather and share outcome data back to referral sources to prove the efficacy of care and secure repeat business.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Education
Sales Background: Minimum of 2+ years of outside sales experience, specifically in home care, hospice, or senior healthcare.
Established Network: A provable, active book of business or existing relationships with local healthcare discharge partners.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration preferred (or equivalent field experience).
Mobility: A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for 80%+ daily local travel.
Core Competencies & Skills
CRM & Tech Proficiency: Mastery of sales tracking systems and electronic medical records (EMR) software.
Persuasive Communication: Superior verbal, written, and public presentation skills.
Autonomy: High energy, self-driven work ethic, and comfort working independently with loose supervision.
Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with healthcare marketing rules, including Anti-Kickback Statutes and Stark Law.
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Weekly Referral Volume: Number of active patient leads generated.
Field Activity Metrics: Meeting or exceeding the baseline quota of field visits per week.
Conversion Rate: Total percentage of referrals successfully moved from lead to active client.
New Account Acquisition: Number of newly opened, recurring referral accounts per quarter.
Marketing Experience is required - 2 years plus.
