    Attention Mortgage Underwriters! Home Funding Corporation is growing! This is an onsite role at our headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. We are currently looking to add a few experienced Residential Mortgage Underwriters to our team. Be a part of a stable Direct Lender that has been in business for over 30 years. This is a full-time and permanent position! We are looking for professionals that are looking to grow with the HFC team long-term. You’ll be responsible for analyzing and verifying real estate loan applications while evaluating risks and making loan decisions. The ideal applicant has a thorough understanding of the latest industry trends and is able to organize and prioritize their tasks efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities: Make sure that after information is collected that it is correct, compliance standards are met, and it is in alignment with company policies Review all mortgage applications and supporting documents to ensure all necessary information is included for approval Conduct a thorough search of clients’ financial and employment history to ensure accuracy of application and documents Inquire about any additional information that is needed to determine loan risk Document in detail reasons for approving or rejecting a loan for our loan officers and clients Qualifications: Strong decision-making and communication skills Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field Understanding of home loans and residential mortgages such as FHA, VA, conventional, and USDA, and loan products Working knowledge of Microsoft office and automated underwriting systems • 2+ years of experience underwriting Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans • Underwriting knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and FHA/VA policies and guidelines • Must be a quick learner and open to learning new programs, methods, and procedures • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Must be dependable, punctual, and well organized • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Software • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly
