SUMMARY

1. Personal Assistance Providers will provide health care tasks as follows:

• Personal Hygiene Services
• Housekeeping tasks
• Other related services essential to the client's health

2. Observe, record, and report all concerns essential to the well-being of the client

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Home management tasks, including housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands.
2. Prepare and serve simple modified diets according to the instructions given and assist with feeding, as necessary.
3. Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
4. Assist with toileting: including the use of a bedpan, commode, or toilet.
5. Assist self-directing clients with medication reminders or refilling the client's prescription and, if necessary, pickups at the local pharmacy as specified on the plan of care.
6. Assist self-directing clients with transfers and/or ambulation including use of cane, walker, or wheelchair.
7. Provide routine skin care. PAS may assist self-directing consumers in applying nonprescription topical medications to skin surface.
8. Assist self-directing clients in reminding them of their home maintenance exercise programs.

• Frequent pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching below shoulder level, and lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs. unassisted may be required.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing, crawling, walking on uneven ground, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting/carrying in excess of 35 lbs. unassisted may be required.
• This position requires spending the majority of the workday standing or walking.
• This position requires working 75-90 percent indoors and 10-25 percent outdoors.
