    Position Summary

    Dependable Health is seeking an experienced QA/Coding Specialist to support clinical quality and compliance initiatives on a PRN basis. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, ensuring accurate coding, auditing OASIS assessments, and maintaining compliance with Medicare, CMS, and state regulations.

    The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in home health and/or hospice documentation, coding accuracy, and quality assurance processes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review home health and/or hospice documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
    • Perform and validate ICD-10 coding in accordance with current guidelines
    • Audit OASIS assessments for accuracy and alignment with patient conditions
    • Identify documentation gaps and collaborate with clinicians to resolve discrepancies
    • Monitor trends in documentation and coding issues and recommend process improvements
    • Support preparation for internal and external audits, surveys, and compliance reviews
    • Provide education and guidance to clinical staff on documentation and coding standards
    • Ensure adherence to Medicare, CMS, and state-specific regulations

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Experience in home health and/or hospice QA, coding, or clinical documentation review
    • Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding and home health/hospice regulatory requirements
    • Demonstrated experience with OASIS review and quality standards
    • Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., WellSky or similar)
    • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills

    Certifications (Required):

    • Active coding certification (HCS-D, HCS-O, or equivalent ICD-10 certification)
    • OASIS certification (e.g., COS-C or equivalent)
