About the Role:
Able Home Healthcare in San Diego, CA is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Home Health Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities:
Process and submit accurate medical claims for home health services to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for home health diagnoses and procedures
Review and audit clinical documentation to ensure coding compliance and accuracy
Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and manage appeals
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
Ensure compliance with CMS home health billing regulations and OASIS documentation requirements
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of medical billing and coding experience, preferably in home health or skilled nursing
Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding and home health-specific billing guidelines
Knowledge of Medicare home health PPS, RAPs, and PDGM billing requirements
CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
Experience with home health EMR/billing software (e.g., Kinnser, MatrixCare, or similar)
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
