HomeSmiles — a national property maintenance company — is expanding in the Charleston & Beaufort region. We’re hiring a Home Maintenance Technician / Service Tech to join our local team. The role starts part-time and grows to full-time, with a clear path to Lead Technician. Lead Technicians receive their own company service van and run their own route, and support the growth of additional technicians.

What You’ll Do
As a Field Service Technician, you will:
Respond to scheduled home maintenance appointments through our dispatch system
Greet clients and walk through services before beginning work
Perform routine preventive maintenance, including:
Gutter cleaning
Dryer vent cleaning
Smoke detector replacement
Window washing
Pressure washing
Apply handyman skills and problem-solving to ensure high-quality results
Place yard signs at job sites and distribute flyers when not on appointments
Upsell additional services when appropriate
Request Google reviews to help grow the brand
Track jobs, document service details, and submit reports via a company tablet
Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies in your company vehicle
Train and mentor additional techs as you advance into a lead role
Note: HomeSmiles performs maintenance only. Technicians do not repair or modify client property.
You’re a Strong Fit If You Are:
Punctual, reliable, coachable, and detail-oriented
Motivated by performance-based pay
Comfortable interacting with homeowners, property managers, and facility staff
Able to follow systems, procedures, and checklists accurately
Physically capable of climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors year-round
A safe driver with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Not afraid of heights or roof work
Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record
Bonus Points (Not Required)
Experience in general labor, handyman work, or facilities maintenance
Background in HVAC, painting, landscaping, pest control, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, or dryer vent cleaning
Experience performing services in commercial, multi-unit, or HOA-managed properties
Marketing, customer service, or sales/upselling experience
