    Teller - Full Time

    JOB TITLE: Full Time Teller Mon-Fri 8-6PM and Sat 9-12 REPORTS TO: Teller Supervisor and Senior Vice President Deposit Operations

    POSITION SUMMARY: The main responsibility of the teller is to provide excellent customer service in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain a basic understanding of our banking products and services. Accurately and efficiently process transactions. Fully comply with company and departmental policies and regulations.

    TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performing as a paying and receiving teller: cashing checks/withdrawals; verifying signatures; verifying funds availability; verify for proper endorsement; verify date and written amount of withdrawal; verify for stop payments Accepting deposits: verifying cash, if any, for accuracy; amount of deposit/cash in/cash out/checks for accuracy, endorsements, signers/signatures Perform internal transfers Answer phones Perform telephone transfers Verifying customer’s identity for over the phone transactions Sale of cashier’s checks Process cash advances Work night drop/mail deposits/ATM deposits Buy/sell money for teller drawer for the day’s needs Maintain cash in accordance to policy Balancing teller drawer daily Report any/all suspicious activity to management Accept loan payments for the loan operations department Strict adherence to dual control Place holds on deposits as needed Adherence to bank policies and procedures Maintaining excellent customer service, greeting customers and facilitating a welcoming and warm environment Being a positive role model for all employees and demonstrate professionalism in appearance, punctuality and attitude Supporting management of HomeBank Texas Keeps your supervisor informed of any and all issues Perform other duties as required by management

    EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Teller experience required Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent Banking experience preferred Cash handling required Ability to work independently Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Good communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to adapt to change Detail oriented

    OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Computer Exceptional organizational skills Effective communication with customers, employees and managers Self-starter Requires minimal supervision

    TELLER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Paying/Receiving Teller, including but not limited to cashing checks/withdrawal: verifying signature card for correct signatures, verifying funds availability, verify for proper endorsement, verify date, verify amount of withdrawal, properly pay out the amount of withdrawal, verify for existing stop payments
    • Accepting Deposits: Verifying cash, if any, for accuracy, amounts of deposit/cash in/cash out for accuracy, endorsements
    • Performing transfers from one account to another per customer request
    • Sale of Cashier’s checks
    • Work night drop/mail deposits/ATM deposits
    • Buy/Sell money for teller drawer to meet the day’s needs
    • Balancing teller drawer daily
    • Maintain cash drawer in accordance with policy
    • Report any/all suspicious activity
    • Accept loan payments for the loan operations department
    • Strict adherence to dual control
    • Adhere to all bank policies
    • Place holds on deposits that merit a hold being placed
    • Various other duties as requested
